FxFactory is an application that gathers useful software for visual and audio effects in one place. But even helpful utilities like this are uninstalled for various reasons. In this article, we want to share with you three ways to remove FxFactory. One of them is universal for any application, and it is more efficient than just moving the app to the Trash.

Contents:

  1. Remove FxFactory manually.
  2. Remove FxFactory using its native uninstaller.
  3. Remove FxFactory using App Cleaner & Uninstaller.

Remove FxFactory manually

An average macOS user knows that these simple steps allow you to remove apps from a Mac:

  1. Open the Applications folder in Finder.
  2. Select the FxFactory app and drop it to the Trash.
  3. Then empty the Trash.

But unfortunately, that easy way removes the .app file only, but not application’s service files. You should note, that in this case, the service files will still be stored on your Mac. If you wish to check whether there are any files related to the FxFactory left on your Mac, you should check the Library folder.

  • Library is a folder, where the service files, like caches and logs are stored. To open Library, proceed with the next steps: open Finder → click Go in the toolbar → select Go to Folder → type ~/Library in the appeared window and press Enter.
  • Go to Library

  • In the opened Library directory, find and delete all subfolders and files related to the FxFactory:
    • /Library/Application Support/Finder window showing FxFactory Application Support folder
    • /Library/Caches/Finder window showing FxFactory caches
    • /Library/Containers/Finder window showing FxFactory Containers folder
    • /Library/Preferences/Finder window showing FxFactory Preferences files

    Use the FxFactory uninstaller

Using the FxFactory uninstaller is more preferable than the previous method. The developers know where the remains could be, so the native uninstaller has to remove the app entirely. Complete the following steps to delete FxFactory via uninstaller:

    1. Open the FxFactory app.
    2. Click on the Actions in the toolbar and select Uninstall FxFactory.

Choosing Uninstall FxFactory command in FxFactory menu bar

After removing FxFactory with the uninstaller, we checked to see if any remains on the Mac were left. We launched the Funter application, which shows all items related to the name (FxFactory) in the search bar, even hidden items.

Unfortunately, we found ten files and folders with fxfactory name, which are useless and have yet to be deleted.

    Use App Cleaner & Uninstaller

In case the application does not have an uninstaller, there is a software which is suitable for uninstalling any app. App Cleaner & Uninstaller is a special utility that helps to remove applications completely. It is compatible with OS X 10.10 and higher. It has a simple interface and removes useless items in just a few minutes. Complete the next steps to uninstall FxFactory on your Mac:

    1. Launch App Cleaner & Uninstaller.
    2. Select FxFactory from the list of applications.
    3. Click on the Remove button next to the FxFactory app.
    4. Overview the items you are going to delete and confirm removal.
    5. Empty the Trash to finish the deletion.

As you can see on the screenshot, App Cleaner & Uninstaller found FxFactory.app and all its service files. It is much easier to delete all the files with just one click, instead of deleting them step by step in folders on your Mac. There is one more pro for App Cleaner & Uninstaller. It has the Remaining Files tab, where leftovers of previously-deleted apps are displayed.

Please note, if you have already deleted FxFactory using the methods 1 or 2 mentioned above, then you can find all the leftovers of the app, again using App Cleaner & Uninstaller. Most likely, you will find the leftovers not only of FxFactory but also of other applications, which you have previously deleted. These temporary service files are useless without the application to which they relate. Thus, you can freely remove them. They do not take much space on the Mac. But after the regular removal of applications by dragging into the trash bin or using their own uninstallers, all their leftovers can form megabytes of useless files on the Mac.

    Conclusion

We have shared three ways to uninstall FxFactory on your Mac. You can try them all and choose the one that seems to be the easiest for you. As you can see, not all of them remove applications from the Mac entirely. Just remember, that App Cleaner & Uninstaller is a service, that supports up to 1000 apps with their service files for removal. It helps to uninstall apps safely, easily, and quickly.
